About the role

Our award-winning training develops the workforce to activate change by building skills and knowledge in the areas of sport, physical activity, community safety, mental and physical well-being. We work with organisations to build on talent and develop new areas of expertise. We deliver training to staff, students, apprentices, volunteers, youth workers, and young leaders.

Who are we looking for?

The role of the Training Academy Tutor is to deliver a range of the StreetGames Training Academy’s accredited & non-accredited workshops and qualifications. Tutors will be required to deliver in a range of classroom and sporting settings within disadvantaged communities, and to learners with a range of previous educational experiences. Training Academy Tutors will tailor delivery to the individual needs of each group of learners, using their knowledge of teaching, coaching & learning styles to create an environment that removes potential barriers to learning.

With understanding or direct experience of working with people from disadvantaged areas, you will be focused upon providing high-quality tailored learning experiences. The successful candidate will have experience in delivering training in a range of contexts and to a range of different learners. We are particularly interested in recruiting the following:

Accredited Course Tutor

The role of our accredited tutor workforce is to provide the delivery of the accredited courses we offer, both online and in classroom settings. These include Level 1 Youth at Risk and the Level 2 Multi-skills Development. The skills you will require include knowledge, experience and background in sport, physical activity, or aligning sectors. Have enthusiasm, passion to make a difference to learners from a variety of backgrounds.

Our tutor workforce aims are to meet the needs of individual learners and help them reach their full potential. Your role will mainly involve delivery of courses following already designed tutor notes, monitoring progress of learners, providing constructive feedback, marking folders and ensuring learners meet assessment criteria.

By becoming an accredited tutor with us here at StreetGames, you can help develop our workforce and contribute to our ‘end game’ by helping to develop and train learners to be more qualified to deliver our sport and physical activity projects within our LTO’s.

Qualifications required

To become an accredited tutor, you will need to hold a Level 3 Education and Training Qualification as well as holding a level 2 Multi-skills qualification.

We are currently recruiting Accredited course tutors for the London region.

Mental Health Tutor

The role of the Mental Health tutor is to provide the delivery of the Youth Mental Health courses we offer, both online and in classroom settings. You will raise awareness and improve the health and well-being of young people living in underserved communities. You will require skills such as active listening, empathy, compassion and have a non-judgemental attitude.

Mental ill health can strike at any time and can affect everyone and although things are improving, stigma still exists around this. As a society, we don’t tend to know how to take care of our mental health like we do our physical health. Which means that people may not know how to support a friend, family member, young person or colleague experiencing a mental health issue, or where to go for help with their own mental health.

Qualifications required

To become a Mental Health tutor, you will need to hold a Level 3 Education and Training Qualification (or be working towards one) as well as being certified by Mental Health England to be able to deliver our courses.

We are currently recruiting Mental Health tutors for the North East, London, East Midlands and West Midlands regions.

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) & Trauma Informed Practice Tutor

The role of the ACE’s tutor is to provide delivery of the ACE’s workshops we offer, both online and in a classroom setting. You will provide an understanding of the effect that adverse childhood experiences have had on young people’s health and how we can make small changes by being Trauma informed to achieve better life outcomes for young people through the wholly inclusive and universal power of sport.

Being Trauma Informed is fundamentally about creating space where people feel safe, kindness and compassion, asking ‘What’s happened’ as opposed to ‘What’s wrong’, understanding what’s going on in the body, to help young people to make sense of their feelings and fundamentally the power of human connection.

Qualifications required

To be an Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) & Trauma Informed Practice Tutor you will need to have a Level 3 Education and Training qualification (or be working towards one). You will need some background experience or knowledge in this area of work which will be evident within your CV or covering letter.

We are currently recruiting for ACES and Trauma Informed tutors for Teesside and Durham (North East), London and Yorkshire regions.
