 Our safeguarding lead

The StreetGames Designated Safeguarding Lead is John Downes. The role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead at StreetGames is to oversee all of our safeguarding work and to ensure StreetGames is meeting sector standards around safeguarding children and young people. The Designated Safeguarding Lead is supported by a safeguarding working group and the StreetGames Board of Trustees.

Standards

StreetGames works with national government departments and safeguarding agencies to ensure it is operating to a set of national safeguarding standards.  In particular, StreetGames aligns its working practices with:

• Child Protection in Sport Unit’s standards for safeguarding and protecting children in sport
• The Department for Education’s code of safeguarding practice for out-of-school settings
